Waterfall Enrichment Logic

6 min readUp to date

MarketrixAI uses a waterfall approach to enrichment, querying multiple data providers in sequence and stopping as soon as a high-confidence result is found. This maximises data quality while minimising credit consumption.

How the Waterfall Works

When you request an enrichment, MarketrixAI queries providers in this order:

1
Clearbit
Company data, technology stack, social profiles
2
Apollo.io
Contact emails, direct phone numbers, job titles
3
Clay
LinkedIn data, recent job changes, intent signals
4
PDL (People Data Labs)
Fallback for hard-to-find contacts

Credit Efficiency

Because the waterfall stops at the first successful result, you are never charged for redundant lookups. If Clearbit returns a complete company profile, Apollo and Clay are not queried. This typically reduces credit consumption by 30–40% compared to querying each provider independently.

Confidence Scores

Each enriched field includes a confidence score (0–100). Fields with a confidence score below 70 are flagged as unverified and shown with a warning icon in the contact record. You can configure a minimum confidence threshold in Settings → Enrichment to automatically exclude low-confidence data.
